Guest Post: Chicken Paprikash

Guest Post: Chicken Paprikash

It’s a guest post from my sister, Jess Hudgins, about a card from our dead mom’s recipe box. Our mother’s side of the family had a lot of pride in being Hungarian. This recipe is probably from Woman’s Day. CHICKEN PAPRIKASH Free time while dinner cooks: 35-40 min Top each serving with a generous spoonful of sour cream or plain yogurt. If you like paprikash extra hot and spicy, look for hot Hungarian paprika. Complete your supper with a crisp…

Mysterious Stinkhorn Growing on a Tree

Mysterious Stinkhorn Growing on a Tree

On 11/19/17 my sister, Jess Hudgins, was hiking in Cook Forest State Park when she found a stinkhorn growing on a tree at the junction of Tom’s Run Road and Brown’s Run. To the Point Collaborative- Wikipedia Consulting

One of my clients is to To the Point Collaborative. They’re a very friendly digital agency that does branding, design and marketing—focusing on healthcare and nonprofits. Peanut Sauce

Peanut Sauce

It’s another entry from my dead mom’s recipe box. I genuinely approve of this recipe. This is the first recipe I’ve tried out of this box that is good. It’s a tangy peanut sauce rather than a sweet peanut sauce (unless you use sweetened peanut butter). PEANUT SAUCE 1 tablespoon peanut oil 1 garlic clove, crushed 3 tablespoons minced onion ¼ cup crunchy peanut butter ¼ cup chicken broth or water ½ cup coconut milk or milk 2 teaspoons fresh…

Mushroom Soup (Specialty of The Breakers)

Mushroom Soup (Specialty of The Breakers)

It’s another entry from my dead mom’s recipe box. Turns out there are divider labels in the box, the labels are just very difficult to read. This is a very plain recipe for mushroom soup that is a “speciality of The Breakers.” (What are The Breakers?) Since this is from an area of the box that is mostly soups recipe, I imagine the divider label once said “soups.” MUSHROOM SOUP (Specialty of The Breakers) Full of flavor and so easy…
